This collection spans the majority of Kay Boyle's lifetime, illustrating her life as a noted professor, humanitarian, and author. The correspondence, writings, personal papers, photographs and assorted ephemera reflect her life during her early years, her expatriate years, her work as a news correspondent during World War II and in Germany in post World War II, the charge of anti-loyalty during the McCarthy era made against Franckenstein and herself, her Vietnam years, her years as a professor at San Francisco State, as well as insight into her marriages and her children.
